For more than 15 years now, I have been carving sculptures from different rocks related to soapstone. These rocks are alabaster, kisii soapstone, serpentine and sandstone.
I start with a raw stone cut with a saw. And mainly use a chisel, knife and file to create my sculptures. Then each piece is highly polished using various grades of sandpaper. Each piece is uniquely created and no two pieces are alike. I may add extra color using natural dyes derived from plants and flowers.
