Sculpture

I call myself a third generation disciple, since the majority of my teachers were directly influenced by the English and Japanese masters of the 20's and 30's, in the Bernard Leach-Shoji Hammada movement. This philosophy defined clay vessels and sculptures as objects that are ‘born' rather than simply made. They challenged the conventional ideas of art and crystallized the concepts of Japanese beauty. For over 30 years I have sold my work professionally and taught other aspiring artists. By the late 80's I was attracted to the high desert region of Santa Fe, New Mexico where I live and work today, on my current series entitled "Desert Bloom."
